Just last week, Activision added another superhero video game into the already busy late 2011 line-up, going by the name of Spider-Man: Edge Of Time. All but a sequel to last year's Shattered Dimensions (8/10), Edge Of Time sees Peter Parker suffer an untimely death in modern day thanks to a time travelling scientist's interference, causing reprecussions for New York both in the present and the far-off future, specifically the year 2099 where another Spider-Man presides. Realising what has happened, the future incarnation of the web-slinger contacts his Amazing self before that version dies, at which point they start working together to set time back on course. It's a daring move by Beenox, but so was Shattered so no surprise there! According to critics who had a go on Edge Of Time, it plays very similarly to its predecessors, featuring web-based combat on the Amazing side and free-fall/slow-mo fighting on the 2099 side, meaning gamers should feel right at home when they try it later this year. Here's the first full trailer for Spider-Man: Edge Of Time, out on Xbox 360, PS3 and other consoles this Autumn:
