The Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB) have today released the final viewing figures for the top ten most-watched programmes aired on Christmas Day, 2011. These figures take into account the viewing figures of the repeat broadcasts later in the week and of recorded versions of the shows, but do not take into account iPlayer, iTV Player or 4OD viewing figures. Still, they're as accurate a chart as we're ever going to get for December 25th, and it's unsurpisingly Downton Abbey and Doctor Who which did best in the new Christmas special department (as opposed to the soaps, returning in their regular slot)!
10. ALL STAR FAMILY FORTUNES (6.36 million viewers, 22% share of national audience)
9. EMMERDALE (7.11m, 29%)
8. THE GRUFFALO'S CHILD (7.64m, 30%)
7. MICHAEL'S McINTYRE'S COMEDY ROADSHOW (8.09m, 32%)
6. STRICTLY COME DANCING (8.5m, 28%)
5. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS (9.07m, 29%)
4. CORONATION STREET (10.51m, 34%)
3. DOCTOR WHO (10.77m, 37%)
2. EASTENDERS (11.33m, 32%)
1. DOWNTON ABBEY (11.6m, 34%)
