IGN's Game Of The Year 2011 Announced
IGN have revealed their choice for the Best Video Game released in 2011. As with the Golden Joystick Awards and GamesRadar's own award, the online site has gone for Portal 2, the brilliant, hilarious puzzle adventure game released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC last April. I have to admit, it was a close call between Valve's latest epic and Batman: Arkham City for my personal pick for Game of the Year in 2011, and Rocksteady only just managed to edge out their hefty competition, but the various awards the sequel has been recieving as of late are a great indication that critics look past the intense Autumn line-up of predictable shooters, remakes and sequels to find a original, unique video game which truly defines what the industry should be about in this day and age. Congratulations to Valve- here's hoping that we get Portal 3, or a brand-new innovative offering from the developer in the not-too-distant future...
