Starting off what promises to be a big few weeks for video game announcements, Capcom have confirmed that Resident Evil 6 is in development, set to be released before the end of the year. The publisher revealed a storyline synopsis with the announcement of the new horror-shooter..."It has been ten years since the Racoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the hope that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by his side is Racoon City survivor Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist surge, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and face his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorist Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under the threat of bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world's population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left." It's an exciting premise, to be sure, and the gameplay's already looking a storm, but will the new Resi bring back scares over action setpieces or be forced down a more linear path like its 2009 predecessor? We'll find out this Winter; Resident Evil 6 hits Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 20th.
