We're already into the third week of January, and things show no signs of slowing down for the world of entertainment, with plenty of great releases on the horizon in the next seven days...AT THE MOVIES- Leonardo DiCaprio's new biopic chronicling the life of the FBI's first commander-in-chief, J Edgar, hits cinemas, and so does the epic science-fiction fantasy thriller Underworld: Awakening. On Sky Movies Premiere, you can catch the latest Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides.
SWITCH ON THE TELLY- The gang go for another con in the second episode of Hustle, while Danny applies for a grant in the third instalment of Wild at Heart.
GET GAMING- Probably best we move on...
ON THE SHELVES- Catch the latest Doctor Who Christmas Special, The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe, plus two 2011 thrillers- The Guard and Hidden- on DVD and Blu-Ray.
CRANK UP THE TUNES- Tribes and Kings of Leon release their two latest albums, Baby and Iconic respectively, while John Williams debuts his beautifully orchestrated soundtrack to the new War Horse movie, the music of which I called some of the best in a film of our time in my 5/5 review.
BIRDSONG- Another fine round of drama from the BBC, this time an adaptation of one of my favourite novels- Sebastian Faulks' Birdsong. Check this out if you look for romance, action or just pure quality from your television set!
ON THE BLOG- The TS Elliot Award winner announced; this year's BAFTA Film Awards nominations confirmed; plus all the latest news and reviews of RAGE, Rango, Never Let Me Go, Halo: Legends, Torchwood: Miracle Day and The Marvel Chronicle.
