This month seems to be a prime target for delay announcements-
Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters was confirmed to have been pushed back to next year,
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and
Max Payne 3 from March to May- and that trend has continued today with Warner Bros' revelation that fantasy flick
Jack The Giant Killer will no longer release this Summer as planned, but early next year instead. The new film follows its fairytale protagonist caught in the middle of a Middle-Earth-esque war between humans and giants, and stars Nicholas Hoult, Ian McShane and Bill Nighy. Very little footage had been released of this one, and considering if it had released in June the film would have gone up against
Prometheus and
Rock of Ages, maybe it's for the best that it was delayed. Whatever the cost to 2012's Summer of Film (and let's be honest, it appears pretty minimal), adding
Giant Killer to next year's movie roster backs up an already strong line-up, including
A Good Day To Die Hard, Arthur & Lancelot, Percy Jackson: The Sea Of Monsters, Iron Man 3, Star Trek 2, Man of Steel, Thor 2, Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, Grown Ups 2, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and
The Hobbit: There And Back Again!
Jack The Giant Killer is now set for worldwide debut in January 2013.
