Max Payne 3 Delayed, Release Date Confirmed
Things have gone relatively quiet on the Max Payne front in the lead-up to its release, and now we've got a reason: the much-anticipated third game in the series has been delayed from its TBC March release date to Q2 2012. Developed by Rockstar, the title sees its protagonist on the run from rogue organisations, forced to make betrayals and dangerous revelations in order to come his worst challenge yet. It's looking like a great third-person shooter, retaining some of GTA and Red Dead's best mechanics, but it's been delayed to "ensure that [it] delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience". I've got no qualms about Rockstar not wanting to compromise quality, yet the move does leave publisher Take Two in somewhat uncharted territory for its release of Grand Theft Auto V- will that be pushed back to 2013 as this generation's last big hitter since there's still BioShock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Spec Ops: The Line and X-COM: Enemy Unknown to come from them this year. Only time will tell, however it is confirmed that GTA V should be with us before March 2013, so it shouldn't be too long a wait. Max Payne 3 is confirmed to release in the UK on May 18th.
