Dark Knight Rises Day-One IMAX Tickets Sell Out

Want to catch a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises on the day of release at an IMAX cinema in America? UK readers will probably turn down that offer, but that's probably a good thing, because get this- tickets for virtually all of those screenings have already sold out! Yep, read that back again, you got it right the first time: over six months ahead of its worldwide release, fans have already flocked to the IMAX website to book their seats for what could well be the most anticipated movie of the year (it certainly was on my list!). Even Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008) could not lay claim to such an achievement, so the faith the fanbase is already installing in the final film in the trilogy is staggering even by their standards. The new entry follows Bruce Wayne, who remains in hiding from his secret identity eight years after Harvey Dent's death, but is forced back into his final night as Batman when Bane challenges the peace that has emerged in Gotham, and the Dark Knight must face his ultimate physical challenge as his oldest enemies rise from the pits of death. Sold? Great, you better head online and reserve tickets, then- trust me, when ODEON, Vue and the like start selling 'em, you're going to want to book as early as possible! The Dark Knight Rises releases on July 20th.
