The BBC's head of commissioning, Ben Stephenson, confirmed this week at a Broadcasting Press Guild launch that both
Luther and
Death In Paradise will be returning to BBC One later this year. The former's new run will comprise a four-episode fourth season, with each romp totalling at 60 minutes, while the popular new latter will return for eight more episodes, each with separate storylines that resume plot arcs from the first season while setting up new threads for a running narrative. The two series should resume broadcast in the Autumn if all goes according to plan, although don't be surprised if
Luther slips into 2013 what with
Doctor Who and
Merlin looking to take up a fair proportion of viewers' time from September onwards this year.
