There's a common misconception that the first three months of the year are some of the quietest for the film industry, but January-March 2012 are easily bucking that trend. Here are the five biggest new movies coming our way before April begins to kick off the Summer of Film...
5. JOHN CARTER- Disney bring us a science-fiction thriller for the ages in John Carter, an ambiguous fantasy adventure that may be one of the unsung heroes of the year. (March 9th)
4. GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE- If there was one superhero sequel out this year I wasn't expecting to put in my list, it was this, but Ghost Rider's second movie looks a damn sight better than the dire original. The trailers are promoting a fun and scary reboot that could well topple the negative legacy of the original...(February 17th)
3. WAR HORSE- One of two highly promising novel adaptations on the list, Steven Spielberg's version of War Horse should be nothing less than a masterpiece if it's been handled right! (January 13th)
2. THE HUNGER GAMES- Suzanne Collins' Games is a wonderful teen novel laced with action and pure thrills throughout. Getting this great fantasy adventure adapted as a feature film should be a brilliant new experience for movie fans. (March 23rd)
1. THE MUPPETS- Comedy fans, brace yourselves: The Muppets is looking like one of the funniest flicks of the entire year, a huge ensemble piece full of cameos from the world's greatest performers. If Disney can pull this one off, we've got a Best Comedy of 2012 contender as early as February! (February 10th)
