What's that we hear? The first whispers of innovation from Rovio? Blasphemy!
Rovio Entertainment have today announced the development of Angry Birds Stella. The latest entry in their hit physics puzzler franchise, Stella will bring together a rebooted cast of airborne heroes in a more narrative-focused experience that promises to reinvent some of the series' core mechanics (yes, really!).
We'll bring you all of the key details on Stella's development and its release date as they come, but for now, here's what Rovio's Mikael Hed (the studio's CEO) had to say on the project: "[Meet] a group of feisty characters with a shared love for fun, adventure and creativity. [...] Angry Birds Stella is all about inspiration, empowerment and other real issues, without forgetting entertainment and quirky fun. [It] is breaking the mold by introducing strong, passionate characters who really stand for something, while adding plenty of action and reality into the mix. [Its] story will live and evolve across physical and digital, bridging them in fun and innovative ways. Stella and her friends are here to stay, with plenty of adventures ahead of them."
Angry Birds Stella will launch on iOS and Android devices this Autumn.
