HBO Studios have today unveiled their official behind-the-scenes teaser programme for the fourth season of their fantasy drama Game of Thrones. Titled Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing, the fifteen-minute video (below) stars Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams and other series regulars, each of whom discuss the events of Season Three (spoiler alert, then, although that should have been rather obvious by the nature of the preview!) and preview the ten one-hour episodes that comprise the next run.
Since Breaking Bad reached its conclusion in the late months of 2013, the US and UK drama fans among you have probably been searching for a new series to whet your appetite. If Arrow and House of Cards don't hit the right beats, then we'd sincerely recommend Thrones, since it provides a rare, chilling atmosphere whereby no character is safe from the oft-devastating consequences of Westeros' ongoing War of the Five Kings. Each of the first three seasons contain their fair-share of dramatically subversive and emotionally powerful setpiece moments, but Season Four is likely to take its adaptation of George R.R. Martin's dense fantasy novels into bold, rapidly tenser territory that will in turn cast fan-favourite characters in an entirely new light, for better or for worse- if they even make it out of the series première alive, that is. (Checks watch)...any chance of speeding up time so as to allow us to reach Spring a little faster? Thought not.
Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic on April 7th.
