For the record, this particular article is a bit of a rarity- Marvel Studios have today released a teaser for tomorrow's teaser trailer for their upcoming science-fiction film Guardians of the Galaxy (try saying that when you've had a few pints!). Here at On-Screen, we'd usually leave this kind of video alone in favour of the full trailer itself, but given that beyond promotional images, we've seen nothing in the way of footage for Guardians, in this instance we'll let the absurd nature of the clip in question fly.
There's just nineteen seconds of CGI-laden footage to savour, but here are just a few juicy shots to look out for in the teaser-for-the-teaser-for-the-movie:
- Doctor Who's Karen Gillan cameos as Thanos' mysterious ally Nebula, wielding blades and sporting a blue skin-suit- followers of OS may recall that she went bald for her appearance at Guardians' Comic-Con panel last Summer!
- Chris Pratt (better known right now as The LEGO Movie's Emmett) is on top form as the film's central protagonist Peter Quill, aka Star Lord, and gets the only proper dialogue in the whole clip.
- Plus, Groot features extensively in the teaser. For those who don't already know, the tree-esque creature is voiced by Riddick's Vin Diesel here, which could be intriguing to say the very least. No sign of Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon as of yet, though...
Guardians of the Galaxy will launch in cinemas worldwide on August 1st, with the first full teaser trailer set to première tomorrow, February 19th at 4.35am.
