A classic PC FPS débuts on the Xbox 360 this month!
Ubisoft Montreal have today announced the digital release of FarCry Classic on Xbox Live Marketplace. Launching exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console, the HD port of the beloved PC first-person shooter FarCry will release just over a week prior to the launch of FarCry: The Wild Expedition, a retail and digital compilation of each of its franchise's instalments to date.
For Ubisoft, though, this Classic re-release is just the beginning of their 2014 retail line-up. Before the year's done, expect to see new entries in the South Park, and FarCry franchises, plus the première of Watch Dogs, Tom Clancy's The Division and The Crew, all of which are looking mighty hot months before their release. Given that Assassin's Creed is a renowned annual saga as well, despite the publisher's release of a HD version of its spin-off chapter Liberation, a fifth full outing is also all but inevitable. Until we hear more, Classic and The Wild Expedition should hopefully be enough to tide FPS veterans over!
FarCry Classic will retail via the Xbox Live Marketplace on February 21st, the same date as the retail release of Far Cry: The Wild Expedition on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
