A new ally joins the World's Mightiest Heroes in their second motion picture.
Variety have today confirmed the latest guest star set to join the cast of Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron. The sequel's narrative takes place years after the events of Avengers Assemble, as the titular team of comic-book characters battle a near-omnipotent metallic threat known as Ultron and discover new allies in the midst of their catastrophic confrontation.
Amongst the Avengers' latest recruits will apparently be the Vision, a famed android construct reportedly set to be portrayed by Paul Bettany. Best known for his performance as the voice of Tony Stark's AI housekeeper Jarvis, Bettany's adopting the mantle of Scarlet Witch's lover could hold significant implications for Jarvis' role and future manifestations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, or could instead provide us with a separate entity altogether. Either way, with Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch both confirmed to feature in the film, the roster of characters comprising the World's Mightiest Heroes will evidently be expanding to a substantial extent in fifteen months' time- for better or for worse...
Avengers: Age of Ultron assembles in cinemas worldwide on May 1st, 2015.
