Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel star in Marvel's Summer sci-fi epic!Marvel Studios have today released three new promotional images (left, below) for their upcoming science-fiction superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy. The fourth chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Two sub-franchise will take place in a distinctly alien region of space with relatively few direct connections to the other major Avengers films.
Before they cancel their ticket purchases, though, Avengers diehards can sleep safe in the knowledge that one or two key elements of the narrative will still have an influence on the wider MCU and its future. First and foremost, Thanos will be a secondary villain in Guardians, pulling the strings while his son Ronan the Destroyer wreaks havoc across the known universe. Better yet, Thor: The Dark World's mid-credits scene revealed that the Collector has acquired one of the mystical Infinity Gems, setting in motion a classic comic-book story arc which could have major consequences for the franchise as a whole...
Guardians of the Galaxy materialises in cinemas worldwide on August 1st. The first teaser trailer for the film will launch tomorrow, February 18th at 11.35pm (US time).
