Nintendo have this week announced new details on two of their upcoming first-party exclusive products. The news comes courtesy of the publisher's semi-regular Nintendo Direct conference, which this time around focused on Spring releases for the WiiU and 3DS video game consoles.
First up on the roster is the fourth instalment in the Super Smash Bros franchise. Set to launch on both WiiU and 3DS, the untitled sequel will feature fan favourite returning characters such as Mario and Sonic, as well as newcomers like the Wii Fit Trainer and Super Mario Galaxy's Rosalina. The latest competitor announced to feature in the side-scrolling brawler is Little Mac, an eccentric boxer who is best known for his role in the Punch-Out!! series that recently débuted an entry exclusively on the Wii.
Further characters were also revealed for the racer line-up in the studio's impending WiiU-exclusive Mario Kart 8. As you'll see in the game's new trailer (below, along with the aforementioned Smash Bros announcement video), the Koopalings will be making their Mario Kart début this Summer after their 2012 return in the WiiU launch title New Super Mario Bros U. This time around, it transpires that we UK gamers won't have to wait any longer to experience the product, since it will be launching here on precisely the same date as it will over in the United States (and Japan)!
Mario Kart 8 will retail exclusively for Nintendo WiiU on May 30th, while Super Smash Bros for WiiU and Super Smash Bros for 3DS still occupy a TBC 2014 release window.
