Stephen Amell will return as DC's iconic archer for another full run of episodes!
The CW have today announced the commissioning of a third season of their superhero drama Arrow. Starring Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards and Caity Lotz, the series follows the exploits of Oliver Queen and his hood-clad alter-ego the Arrow in Starling City as he battles fan favourite DC villains such as the Dark Archer, Bronze Tiger and Deathstroke.
Frankly, the only major surprise here would have been if The CW had elected not to re-commission Arrow, since it's one of their tentpole TV franchises right now. DC Entertainment are clearly throwing the gauntlet down at Marvel's feet once again this year on the small screen, with not only Arrow's third season but additionally the pilot episode (and potentially a full season) of its spin-off Flash and an entire season of Fox's detective drama Gotham all set to land on our television sets before 2014 is done. Given that Marvel's Agents of SHIELD hasn't exactly been the smash success that ABC were anticipating, Marvel's head honchos will have to reconsider their approach in order to match DC's output for the final months of the year!
Arrow will return to The CW and Sky1 for a third season of twenty-two episodes this Autumn.
