Dance Hero On Its Way?

The days of yearly Guitar Hero and DJ Hero releases may well be behind us, but rumour has it Activision will debut a new music franchise making use of motion peripherals like the PlayStation Move and Xbox 360 Kinect later this year. Reportedly called Dance Hero, the game would be intended as a rival to the likes of Dance Central and Def Jam Rapstar, and include memorable routines for tracks like '2012', 'Out of Space', 'The Way I Are' and 'Take Over Control'. Entertainment site Kotaku posted the rumour, having been told by various sources that the title would release this Autumn and was hoped by Activision to bump-start the Hero series after a severe drop in sales with last year's Warriors of Rock. No doubt if Dance Hero is real, we will get a confirmation in the next couple of months since the likes of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty and Spider-Man are all expected to have new instalments revealed in April and May, then perhaps some new game-play will emerge for it at E3. If this is the case, I'm pleased- Kinect and Move haven't had many games out since December, so the more we get for the peripherals in 2011 the better!
