Tron: Uprising Trailer Arrives

Just months after the release of the excellent Tron: Legacy (5/5), Disney XD has shown a trailer for Tron: Uprising, a brand new animated series that takes place shortly before the 2010 film sequel. The show stars Elijah Wood as Beck, the at-first unwilling leader of a revolution against Clu 2, a villainous dictator who now rules the virtual world of the Grid. For kids that forget/haven't seen Legacy, it will probably be cool to watch the plot play out and see if the titular uprising succeeds, but for fans and viewers of the critically acclaimed movies it may seem like a wasted venture as we know that the rebellion is doomed to fail until Kevin Flynn's son arrives (enter the second film).
