Glee: The Music Volume Four Review (3.5/5)
Glee has never been stronger in terms of episode quality, and you would think a compilation of the songs that make these stories so compelling would be a sure-fire hit. Sadly, many of the tracks feel out of place without videos from the episodes to put things into context, and an odd bunch of tracks to listen to together. That aside, the vast majority of the content is strong stuff, including the show's great cover versions of popular songs like Empire State of Mind, Stronger and Toxic. My personal highlights are Forget You, Marry You and Valerie, but what's always interesting with albums such as these is that with just one playthrough of the list you'll be able to choose your own favourites. To conclude, Volume Four is a much more well-rounded compilation than its predecessors, even if loads of the covers don't blend terribly well in the overall scheme of things.
