The main Shrek film series came to a close last year with Forever After, but the legend continues in spin-off form this Christmas with Puss in Boots, a prequel that takes the foolish feline from his roots to his role as an assassin in 2007's Shrek 2. Here we have the first trailer, showing an animated cat that looks considerably younger than the character from the main franchise, indicating that the majority of the flick will give Antonio Banderas the chance to voice Puss in his youth. Admittedly, the jokes in place here seemed pretty stale, and if that's the case for the spin-off as a whole it wouldn't come as much of a surprise seeing as this will mark the fifth entry in the Shrek saga, a risky move for any genre of film, let alone animated comedy.
