More Big Wii Games Coming
Reggie Fils-Aime, head of Nintendo America, has reassured Wii gamers that the home console will have plenty in store for 2011 after a long absence of game reveals by the company. Speaking to IGN, Fils-Aime said "We've had to effectively prepare for the launches of the 3DS and Pokemon [out now in Black and White versions for DS]", noting that the company is "already juggling two big balls" and thus "to add a third would be a little big challenging". Last year was a great time for owners of the Wii, with Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M and Goldeneye 007 all out for Nintendo's motion-based console, and Reggie says that "[Nintendo] will be sharing more certainly in the weeks ahead, bringing out some content before/sharing more news at E3." So far, we know that Conduit 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will ship exclusively for Wii this Autumn, but it seems that more franchises on the way, and with Mario and Kirby games already released last month that could lead to speculation that we'll be seeing fan favourites such as Kid Icarus and Pilotwings make appearances on a Nintendo home console for the first time in a decade! Keep checking On-Screen in the run up to the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June...
