Torchwood Game Coming?
Fresh off getting two Doctor Who games for the Nintendo Wii and DS, it's looking mighty likely now that the fourth series of Torchwood will get a tie-in adventure too. Titled Miracle Day, the latest season sees humanity find that every person on Earth has suddenly become immortal, but they soon discover this has it drawbacks as the planet depends on death to keep its economy in check- could an alien menace being manipulating our race for its own gain, and if so what disturbing traits of human nature will be revealed in the devastating effort to end Miracle Day? Exciting stuff, and speaking to Robert Nashak, website BigDownload has discovered that a video game adaptation may also be in the works. Pressed on the possibility of a tie-in, the vice president of BBC Worldwide digital entertainment said "It is always our goal at BBC Worldwide to do as much as possible to extend the experience for our viewers wherever it makes sense. Miracle Day is going to blow everyone's minds- that much I can say for now." Okay, so it isn't a definite yes, and if last year's Wii effort Doctor Who: Return to Earth is anything to go by creating an effective Torchwood video game on consoles will be difficult, but it's a promising start, and we'll keep you updated on Series Four and the possible brand expansion for the show in the months leading up to Miracle Day's première in July.
