GDC: Gears Beta Starts April 25th

Shortly after announcing a September 20th release date for the most anticipated shooter of 2011, developer Epic Games has also revealed that the multi-player beta for Gears of War 3 will première on Xbox Live on April 25th. The studio, now graced with an extra three months more development time than they had expected (the Gears finale was set to originally hit this Spring, but Microsoft pushed it back to the third quarter of the year to give the Xbox 360 a major exclusive in Autumn), wants to test out some of the key additions to the game-play like trench warfare and the 'Capture the Leader' mode, not to mention sorting out any hitches that occur in the so far stunning visuals of the final conflict between the human rebels and the Locust. Bulletstorm: Epic Edition owners will get the chance to preview the beta a whole week early (from April 18th-24th), with four maps and modes available to them before anyone else- so look for my world exclusive impressions of Gears 3 that week!
