Glee: A Very Glee Christmas Review (4/5)

Another relatively successful episode this week, even if it felt wildly out of context for viewers in the UK three months on from its intended air date. A Very Glee Christmas predictably had a much more festive tone than we're used to on the show, looking at Sue's hate for the season of good will, Britanny's beliefs and the moving lengths Coach Beast (who is increasingly becoming an incredibly likeable character) will go to in order to keep them alive. For once, songs were pretty sparse bar Last Christmas, O Christmas Tree and a couple of others probably better known in the United States than over here, and that's what lost the story a couple of points- things got too dull occasionally. There's little more to say about the episode- if anything I've covered most of it here- other than as a yuletide special, A Very Glee Christmas would have been perhaps the perfect television Christmas present, and when the merry season comes around at the end of 2011 I may well head back and give it a rewatch!
