Dreamworks Announces New Films
The Shrek franchise may be coming to an end this year with spin-off Puss In Boots, but DreamWorks Animation isn't letting that keep them down, announcing all new motion pictures to be in the works. First up is Madagascar 3, the latest tale of the group of talking animals desperately hoping to find their way back to a New York City zoo, currently due for release in June 2012. Also coming next year is Rise of the Guardians (thankfully no relation to 2010's tepid owl flick Legend of the Guardians), a one-off adventure combining action and magic for epic confrontations directed by Peter Ramsey (who also helmed surprise hit Monsters VS Aliens), currently slated for November. In 2013, The Croods (comedy), Turbo (racing) and Me & My Shadow (fantasy) are all set to kick-star new series for the studio, plus the year after that we'll see a sequel to How To Train Your Dragon, so there's obviously tons of life beyond Shrek for DreamWorks!
