Alex Rider Series Ends In March

You may have heard this already, but Anthony Horowitz has revealed that the final Alex Rider novel will be released on the 31st of March. The book, dubbed Scorpia Rising, will see Alex at the age of fifteen and "how his relationship has changed with Jack", also shedding "a new light on Alan Blunt". Most intriguingly of all, "a character who featured in all eight previous books will die"! The novel's title will serve as an exciting indication for fans as to where the finale for Rider will head: Scorpia (2004, 5/5), the fifth book in the series that began with Stormbreaker (4/5) in 2000, saw Horowitz's protagonist face off against a terrorist organisation who promised answers as to his heritage but had deadlier motives that shaped the sequel 2005 Ark Angel. Scorpia Rising picks up where 2009's Crocodile Tears left off, as Alex sought out a romance with Sabina Pleasure and retirement from his time with MI6, so fans already know romance could factor into the series' climax. Look out for my review in March.
