Toy Story 3 Tops UK 2010 Film Chart
Did it really come as that much of a surprise? Toy Story 3, the final instalment in the two-decade spanning Pixar film franchise, topped the UK box office charts for 2010 as a whole, grossing over £73.8million in its time at cinemas. The flick, taking Woody and pals to a terrifying child-care centre in an adventure which shared themes with past legends like The Great Escape, beat off competition from Avatar and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One, the former garnering £67million in the months it spent at the box office after its December 2009 release and the latter £48.7million despite forming what many fans called the calmer half of an epic finale. I recently awarded Toy Story 3 the prestigious title of My Top Film of 2010, and clearly the massive box office grossing is a reflection on such an honour!
