Star Wars: The Complete Saga For Blu-Ray
Star Wars, perhaps the most loved science-fiction film franchise of all time, is coming to Blu-Ray this September. The colossal announcement of the saga's hi-def retuning came at the Consumer Electronics Show today as Panasonic took the opportunity to hire fan favourite villains Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers to take the CES stage and show the first trailer for the release. Three editions of the Blu-Ray revamps will be available come September: one featuring Episodes I-III (yes, the ones that everyone hated, here dubbed "The Prequel Trilogy"), another with Episodes IV-VI (yes, the ones that are still cult phenemonens even today, "The Original Trilogy") and a final, grand box-set of all six films including over 30 hours of extras like "deleted and alternate scenes" (according to George Lucas, but seriously, isn't there a reason why they were held back other than for a format no one knew was coming?) and a "look at the Star Wars archive" in a £100 compilation called "The Complete Saga" due for release on the same as-of-yet-unknown day as the other DVDs in September. Expect more news on all three packages closer to the month of release, and hopefully some very special features!
