Torchwood: The New World Renamed

Just days after the airdate of Torchwood Season Four was announced as the 1st of July, Russell T Davies has announced that the 10-part story will switch titles from 'The New World' to 'Miracle Day'. The move came at the TCA Press Tour as Davies promoted Torchwood's return to various members of the US press, unveiling details of the premise. Miracle Day will open as "one day on Earth, no one dies. The next day, no one dies. The people who are dying keep dying, but don't actually die". Excitingly enough, the executive producer noted that this means "an instant overnight population boom" and since the world "relies on people dying, what is society going to do now?". Apparently "some of the answers are beautiful and brave, some are terrifying"! There's no sign of an alien adversary just yet, but if I know Torchwood then the aforementioned miracle can't have come out of nowhere- someone must have caused it, and odds are their intentions aren't friendly for the human race, and if Series 3 (Children of Earth) was anything to go by humanity isn't great at keeping its head when a global crisis arises. Only a few months until all is revealed!
