Villains will unite and a hero's greatest battle will begin this April.Sony Pictures have today released a second Superbowl TV trailer and the final full theatrical trailer for their impending superhero film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, the follow-up to 2012's reboot The Amazing Spider-Man features not one, not two, but three near-omnipotent antagonists for the Webbed Wonder to battle on the streets of Manhattan.
Make no mistake, those persistent villains are the primary focus of this latest update to the movie's marketing campaign, with the latter trail of the pair (below) going by the title of Villains Unite Sizzle Reel. Electro, the Green Goblin and Rhino's on-screen antics are each teased in good measure, and luckily, it looks as if each of these three comic-book adversaries will be given more substantial back-stories than the underwhelming version of the Lizard played by Rhys Ifans last time around. What's more, Emma Stone's love interest again appears to be in mortal peril, and for the hardcore Spider-Man fans among this blog's readership, those ill omens can only lead to the adaptation of one iconic classic storyline- welcome, dear readers, to the 'Death of Gwen Stacy'...
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into UK cinemas nationwide on April 18th.
