J.K. Rowling shows off the first look at her brand new novel...
We've already had events like Pottermore and the Making Of Harry Potter Studio Tour keeping the memory of JK Rowling's Harry Potter franchise in our minds over the course of 2012, but now it seems it really is time to move on. This week, Rowling and her publisher Little, Brown & Company have revealed the cover for their new novel project The Casual Vacancy. The book follows the tale of a village fraught in civil conflict as a vacancy on the local council sends the people into disarray, leaving the election of a new council member the only thing that stands between peace and all-out anarchy. It's hard to tell whether this interesting narrative will live up to Rowling's brilliant seven-book fantasy franchise, especially based on the ambiguous cover, but this is already looking to be the major best-seller of the year, so I doubt its makers are worrying by any means! The Casual Vacancy lands at retailers on September 27th, and you can see the cover below:
