Arrow Season Two Promotional Trailer Released

The CW have today released a new promotional trailer for the second season of their superhero drama television series Arrow. Based on the well-known DC superhero character and his comic-book storylines, the show chronicles the return of Oliver Queen to Starling City and his quest to fight injustice while becoming the 'masked vigilante' who will one day be known as Green Arrow.

As this latest preview (below) shows, Season Two takes place months after the events of Season One's finale Sacrifice, with The Undertaking responsible for the near-destruction of the Glades. Oliver is forced out of mourning for Tommy's demise when new 'copycat' superheroes threaten to resume a wave of anarchy across the city, with events kicking off in the aptly-named season premiere City of Heroes next month.

In addition, it's already been confirmed that another DC hero, the Flash, will make his debut on the show in three episodes that will simultaneously act as trial runs for the speedy hero to have a series of his own. Could this lead to a DC Cinematic Universe featuring Stephen Amell alongside Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, with a Justice League film reportedly in the pipeline? Who knows...

Arrow returns to The CW with Season Two on October 9th. Season Two will broadcast on Sky1 in the UK this Autumn.
