Acclaimed Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor joins the new instalment of the iconic franchise.Paramount Pictures have today announced the director of their upcoming science-fiction thriller film reboot of the Terminator franchise. Taking place in an alternative universe to that of the original Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Terminator: Salvation, this latest instalment will pack a brand new cast and what should hopefully be an innovative narrative.
Choosing a director for a potentially risky project such as a reboot is a vital development, so that Alan Taylor is attached to the Terminator reboot is promising indeed. Taylor's past work includes multiple episodes of the hit HBO television drama Game of Thrones, with his latest upcoming project happening to be none other than the impending Marvel Studios motion picture Thor: The Dark World. If those franchises aren't sufficient experience with which to tackle Terminator, then it's rather difficult to define exactly what else would fit the bill in this case.
Terminator 5 marches into cinemas worldwide on June 26th, 2015.
