Fans of the hit Wii launch title will be able to play a fully-fledged HD version soon...
Nintendo have today announced the development of Wii Sports Club for release later this year. The third iteration in the acclaimed first-party sports video game franchise, Club follows 2006's smash-hit Wii bundle title Wii Sports and its Wii MotionPlus successor Wii Sports Resort (2009).
While any addition to Nintendo's first-party line-up is welcome right now, there is a slight caveat in the works here. Wii Sports Club could quite easily hold the title Wii Sports HD instead, as in essence it is an upscaled version of the 2006 original with high-definition visuals for the Nintendo WiiU console. Rather than being available as a retail package, Club will ship on Nintendo's eShop for a currently undisclosed RRP. Given that Wii Sports virtually retailed for free, with any luck the price tag here shouldn't be anything to worry about. As fans would expect, all five original sports- Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, Golf and of course Tennis- are back with a dazzling HD makeover within the product, although the various mini-games will be released in instalments with a definitive pricing structure yet to be confirmed.
Wii Sports Club retails exclusively for Nintendo WiiU on the eShop digital store this November 7th.
