Ahead of a new trailer, see a new promo image of the next Hobbit movie!Warner Brothers Pictures have today released a new promotional poster (below) for their upcoming fantasy film sequel The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Set immediately after the events of 2012's hit An Unexpected Journey, the second instalment in the prequel trilogy will focus on the Company's exploits in Mirkwood, the kingdom of the Necromancer and the lost city of Erebor (the latter the titular desolation of Smaug himself).
As it stands, right now it's uncertain as to exactly where in the novel Desolation will reach come its conclusion. Perhaps Smaug's demise will form the final moment of the movie, with the Battle of Five Armies teased for There and Back Again next year. Whatever the case, this entry at least boasts a cracking cast- Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Christopher Lee, Sylvester McCoy, Orlando Bloom, Billy Connolly, Stephen Fry, James Nesbitt and of course Benedict Cumberbatch are all headlining the second instalment, a mightier ensemble than most films releasing in cinemas this Christmas.
