The Fault In Our Stars Cast Member Announced

Spider-Man's very own Green Goblin takes on a central role in the upcoming John Green novel adaptation.
20th Cenutry Fox have this week announced a new cast member appearing in their upcoming drama film The Fault in Our Stars. An adaptation of John Green's hit 'sick lit' novel, Fault focuses on two cancer-ridden teens who find their destinies intertwined on a chance quest to meet a hidden legend of literature.

Joining The Descendants' Shaliene Woodley in the list of confirmed cast members is the American actor William Dafoe. William has taken on a wide range of big-screen roles in the past in hit films including Platoon and The Last Temptation of Christ, although arguably his most memorable role for many fans will be that of Norman Osborn and his supervillain alter-ego the Green Goblin in the Spider-Man film trilogy directed by Sam Raimi.

In a random twist of fate, he'll be hooking up with the girl who was set to play Mary-Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 until a recent director's cut. Here, William will play the elusive author Peter Van Outen, an inspiration to Fault's young, terminal protagonist who proves vital in the overall narrative. Without a doubt, this is one of the most impressive teen fiction novels I've had the pleasure of experiencing in 2013, making its motion picture adaptation a must-see event for this writer next year.

The Fault in Our Stars will hold its first therapy meeting at cinemas worldwide in 2014.
