Apple's September event brings with it two new editions of the iPhone for release in 2013...
Apple have today announced the development of two new iPhone handsets for release later this year. The news comes via the company's September press event which took place in the States earlier today. If the various announcements from the event have passed you by, then what follows may prove more than a little surprising.
First, though, let's deal with the least shocking announcement of the day. Apple revealed their iPhone 5S handset at the event, unveiling a selection of the features that the latest incarnation of the main handset franchise will sport. The 5S packs an A7 processor, an f.2/2 8-megapixel camera and upgraded RAM. This particular handset ships in grey, silver and gold colour schemes.
Meanwhile, the company additionally debuted the iPhone 5C at their press conference. While the 5S' RRP range begins at the traditional price of £549, the 5C will likely retail for a two-year contract price of £99, a significant reduction compared to their previous handset contract set-ups. This incarnation boasts a still impressive A6 processor, an 8-megapixel camera and polycarbonate material on its outer casing. With any luck, the latter feature may enable the device to be less fragile than its franchise's predecessors, although this writer can't confirm that himself until he's tested the technology first hand.
The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C handsets will retail in UK stores from September 20th.
