Marvel Studios have today released the latest television trailer (below) for their upcoming superhero film sequel Thor: The Dark World. Set after the events of Thor (2011) and Avengers Assemble (2012), the second instalment in Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Two series is a mere month away from its UK release.
The Dark World's premise goes something like this- utilising the power of the restored Bifrost engine, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) transports himself backs to Earth, picks up Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and beams them to the city of Asgard. From there, it transpires that an ancient evil has re-emerged in the Nine Realms, going by the name of Malkeith The Dark Elf (Christopher Eccleston). As the Asgardian Avenger calls upon his treacherous brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to best the legions of extraterrestrials laying siege to the universe, perhaps he must make the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect the known worlds and beyond...
Thor: The Dark World hammers into UK cinemas nationwide on October 30th.
