Find out the names of the first cast members in the upcoming motion-picture adaptation right here.Universal Pictures and Focus Features have today announced the first actors cast in their upcoming romance-drama movie Fifty Shades of Grey. A fully-fledged adaptation of E.L. James' shock success 2011 novel, the film's narrative revolves around a budding attraction between a college senior student and a wealthy young entrepreneur in Washington.
The initial confirmed stars are as follows: Dakota Johnson will play student Anatasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam will play the entrepreneur in question, Christian Grey. Dakota has her fair share of experience in both film and television, having taken on roles in The Social Network, Beastly, 21 Jump Street and The Office amongst other beloved franchises. Meanwhile, Charlie's more of an up-and-coming celebrity, having made his debut in 1999's Whatever Happened To Harold Smith? and recently acquiring a role as part of Guillermo Del Toro's blockbuster smash-em-up Pacific Rim. With any luck, this much-anticipated flick should give both of these (relatively) new actors the chance to shine as much as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (ahem) did in the Twilight franchise which inspired the original novel.
Fifty Shades of Grey blurs the lines of cinemas worldwide on August 1st, 2014.
