Worried that Marvel's ambitious TV drama will take ages to air in the UK? Fear no longer, mortal...
Channel 4 have today announced the broadcast date of the first episode of ABC Studios' new action drama television series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Set in the city of New York, the show focuses on a team of elite agents within the fictional SHIELD organisation who are led against the new super-powered menaces that have risen since Avengers Assemble.
Of course, perhaps the primary attractive element of the show within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the return of one Agent Coulson. Played once again by the brilliantly dedicated Clark Gregg, Coulson has somehow returned from the dead after being stabbed through the heart by Loki's spear in 2012. Quite how this resurrection came to pass won't become clear until later in the first season, yet it should prove to be one of the most compelling mysteries of the initial run. It's great to hear that we'll be recieving Episode One and subsequent instalments within three days of their broadcast on ABC over in the States.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Channel 4 this September 27th.
