Arrow News: The Flash Episodes, Spin-Off Announced

The CW expand their superhero drama to feature new DC heroes, and that's just the beginning.
The CW have today announced a new DC character set to feature in the second season of their superhero drama show Arrow and plans for an entire new television drama featuring that very protagonist. It transpires that none other than the Flash will appear in the eighth, ninth and twentieth episodes of Arrow Season Two, played by an as yet unknown star.

This exciting development comes after the US television studio announced that the Black Canary will form part of the regular character roster of Season Two at ComicCon. The new run's first episode will be titled City of Heroes, enabling an early segueway into an expanded DC Televised Universe for the hit modern series. Barry Allen's appearances in the run will form part of an origins tale for the character, with Episode 20 set to feature new supporting cast members who will in fact be part of the regular line-up in the Flash's own TV show.

First appearing in Flash Comics #1, this beloved DC hero has featured in a wealth of comic-books and as has had his fair share of on-screen adaptations. Most recently, Smallville fans will recall that Barry Allen's speedy alter-ego featured throughout the ten-season Superman origins saga, although we've had it confirmed that just as Man of Steel reboots the DC Cinematic Universe, so too does Arrow rightly mark a fresh start on the silver screen. Nevertheless, the concept that a televised version of the Justice League of America may begin to form in Season Two while we eagerly await Superman Vs. Batman at cinemas in 2015 is thrilling, indeed.

Arrow returns this Autumn on Sky1. The Flash will commence broadcasting on Sky1 in 2014.
