In an unexpected development, it appears the villain of Superman Vs. Batman and the man playing him may have been revealed!
Details on Warner Brothers' crossover superhero film Superman Vs. Batman have been light on the ground ever since the movie's ComicCon reveal, but it transpires that today we may have discovered two new integral elements of the motion picture.
Speaking to Digital Spy today, Kick-Ass and Sherlock Holmes star Mark Strong has hinted that he may have a role to play in the upcoming Man of Steel follow-up. Here's what the man who gave us characters such as Frank D'Amico and Lord Henry Blackwood had to say on the matter: "All I can say [on the possibility of playing Lex Luthor] is...watch this space." It's an intriguing tease from the actor to be sure, and given that Lex generally holds more power over his Kryptonian foe thanks to the use of meteor rocks, one has to wonder if Luthor will be the only antagonist in the flick.
Without a doubt, Luthor seems a viable candidate for inclusion in the crossover instalment, since LutherCorp logos were visible on various advertisements in Man of Steel earlier this year. Beyond him, the obvious inclusion for fans of the Dark Knight trilogy from Christopher Nolan would be the Joker, although equally perhaps leaving a little more time after Heath Ledger's acclaimed take on the character may be advisable.
Superman Vs. Batman flies into cinemas worldwide in 2015.
