Deep Silver revive the franchise that no self-respecting gamer cares about for a third entry in a different format.Deep Silver Games have today announced the development of Dead Island: Epidemic for release next year. The third instalment in the zombie-slaying franchise of horror video games, Epidemic will take on an altogether different format of release to its predecessors.
Rather than retailing on multiple platforms as a linear single-player and online experience, this time around the Dead Island experience will become an online multiplayer arena title. More surprisingly still given the Xbox One and PlayStation 4's MMORPG capabilities, this will remain a PC exclusive title, only retailing on Microsoft Windows devices rather than Microsoft and Sony's new home consoles. However, Deep Silver have promised that more news on the "Dead Island universe" will surface at Gamescom later this month.
