Activision Games and Infinity Ward have this week released the first video footage (below) of the multiplayer component of their upcoming first-person shooter video game Call of Duty: Ghosts. Set in an alternative universe to that of the developers' Modern Warfare franchise, the latest edition in the series features new gameplay mechanics such as dogs, scuba diving and...well, that's about it, but as Activision would say, there's dogs!
Anyway, the trailer itself showcases online footage which looks uncannily similar to the multiplayer experiences produced in Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops II. That's likely to somehow be more than enough for hardened (or indeed Prestige) fans of the franchise even before the £180 Prestige Edition headed to the UK on release day, but for those hoping for a new lease of life for the COD franchise, that really doesn't seem to be the case here. There will likely be many cross-generational formative gameplay experiences this Autumn, but I can confirm that this will not be one of them.
Call of Duty: Ghosts dives into video game retailers worldwide for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU and PC on November 5th.
