Sherlock Series Three Teaser Trailer Released

"To be continued...Sherlock returns on BBC One." Are you ready?
The BBC have today released the first teaser trailer for the third season of their detective drama Sherlock. Based on the acclaimed Arthur Conan Doyle franchise of novels, this returning show focuses on Sherlock Holmes in a modern-day world, with Holmes played by Benedict Cumberbatch and his assistant John Watson played by Martin Freeman.

As if the 'teaser' in the title weren't obvious enough, this first glimpse at Series Three (below) doesn't exactly reveal much, if anything, regarding Sherlock's survival other than that it happened. We're clearly going to see sequences featuring Mrs Hudson, Molly, Lestrade and of course Watson himself learning of their old friend's resurrection, but details regarding the nature of that revival will have to wait until The Empty Hearse's broadcast later this year. All the same, we're willing to bet that John will be rather surprised to see which particular guest is turning up to his date unannounced in Episode One...
