BBC One's new situation comedy stars David Walliams, Catherine Tate and Phillip Glenister, and kicks off this month.
The BBC have this week announced the premiere broadcast date for their new situation comedy series Big School. Penned by David Williams, this latest hilarious show stars the Little Britain and Come Fly With Me actor as a bumbling teacher with an embarassing crush, alongside acclaimed British stars Catherine Tate and Phillip Glenister as his staff colleagues.
It seems an age since BBC One brought us a truly innovative comedy like Come Fly With Me (January 2012, for those keeping count) and thus the prospect of one such entry in the genre coming to our small screens later this month is enthralling. If Big School does succeed, then it should mark a major breakthrough for the channel, what with their annual Christmas comedy outings Outnunbered and The Royle Family now generally failing to impress despite their high viewing ratings.
Big School opens its doors for classes this August 16th on BBC One.
