Discover the name of the man who will bring Tom Cruise's latest death-defying escapades to the big screen in 2015.
Paramount Pictures have this week announced the director of their upcoming action thriller motion picture Mission Impossible 5. Taking place after the events of 2011's Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, this will be the fifth entry in the box office success franchise starring Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and other famed Hollywood names. It's difficult to muster quite the same enthusiasm for this when Ghost Protocol barely matched its predecessors' quality, yet there's no doubt that even in one of the busiest years of entertainment, M.I.5. will be a big seller.
The director of this fourth sequel will be Chris McQuarrie. McQuarrie's recent efforts on the big screen have included The Tourist, Jack The Giant Slayer and Jack Reacher, the latter of which also featured Cruise in its leading role. While it's a bit of a letdown that McQuarrie couldn't add a third consecutive motion picture with 'Jack' in its title to his roster, and Jack Reacher was hardly the most promising showcase of the director's abilities, at the very least it's reassuring to see a man with plenty of experience in the realms of action thrillers take on the next mantle in the Mission Impossible saga.
Mission Impossible 5 abseils precariously into cinemas worldwide in 2015.
