Grand Theft Auto Online Trailer Released

Played online before? Played MMORPGs? It turns out that you haven't seen anything yet!
Rockstar Games have this week debuted the first full gameplay trailer for their upcoming online video game project Grand Theft Auto Online. An expansion component within their impending Grand Theft Auto V experience, Online provides its players with a fully-fledged online multiplayer universe for them to explore, conduct heists in and use to wage war on or with their mates across the world.

While it doesn't give away every asset of the experience by any means, the video preview (below) at least hints at a few aspects of this secondary experience. Online takes place before the events of GTA V's main narrative, containing light storyline events of its own on top of the free-roaming experiences. Yep, you read right- up to sixteen players will be able to explore Los Santos of their own accord, challenging each other to races, deathmatches, sports matches and plenty more from launch day. The release of the minimal (but vital) downloadable update to Rockstar's product comes a couple of weeks after the main game's release to allow players the chance to finish the main campaign first, but sufficed to say it will add plenty of life to the product after the solo experience...

Grand Theft Auto Online will be available on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network this October 1st. Grand Theft Auto V ships for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17th.
